About Us

Iain Fraser is a product of Westmount High School; McGill University; University of Toronto and The Institute of World Affairs in Canaan, Connecticut.

He is also a product of F.E. Fraser (father) who founded the Fraser Company (Sporting Goods); who sunk a German submarine when serving in the Royal Naval Air Service and won the Distinguished Service Cross which was presented to him by the King of England at Buckingham Palace. Pretty hard to top that one. And just for kicks, he and Jack Purcell were Canadian doubles badminton champions.

Iain Fraser and Bay Street

Iain founded Fraser Research in the sixties - a firm that printed, published, and interpreted stock market charts.

After the usual slow (and struggling) start the business prospered and Iain was bought out in the early seventies.

He has been a prolific writer all his adult life and wrote the book on technical analysis for the Canadian Securities Institute (The Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver Stock Exchanges and the Investment Dealers Association of Canada). This book includes an excellent summary of the still valuable Dow Theory. Iain also wrote The Elliott Wave Theory section in 'The Encyclopedia of Stock Market Techniques' published by Investors Intelligence in Larchmont, New York.
